Simply petting a dog can reduce an overactive sympathetic nervous system, within minutes.
Levels of hormones that make us feel good & those hormones involved in social attachment, go up when were around dogs & stress hormone levels go down.

Group Dog Walk 13/10 pm





Who was on our walk? Bella, Floyd, Alice, George, Jasper & Nala.
I also had Andrew along as a dog walking helper.
What time were we in the park?150-250
Were did we go?Sydney Park
General comments: It was very hot this afternoon! We spent alot of time walking in the shade & drinking from different water spots. Bella ran a lot today playing fetch. Every one else still ran around & played, just not quite as much & as fast as Belly :)

Nala is a 5 year old, female, Jack Russell. Nala sticks very close to me on our walks. when there is a dog that is falling behind she will always stop & wait for them to catch up. & she gets any one in trouble if they are playing to rough.

Jasper is a 11 year old, Golden Retriever. Jasper is a very kind gentle natured dog. He still acts like a puppy when he is excited but he is usually the slowest walker in the group. He also hates it when i stop & talk to people when were out walking.

Born 7/02. Male. Staffie. Leroy is a lovely boy, he is very affectionate & always happy & excited to greet me. Leroy can some times get a bit bossy with younger dogs, I think he likes to teach them lessons & he also likes to play tug of war with his lead :)
